Clients: Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities
Challenge: Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities (PSPC), a coalition of more than 50 foundations and funders seeking to test innovative, evidence-informed strategies like CVI to reduce gun violence. Over the past seven years, the coalition has established an evidence base that paves the way for public funding to sustain the strategies that work. Over the past four years, the field of CVI has expanded due to government investment and, through collaboration and partnership, has recently become a focus of the Public Safety Task Force of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago. Because CVI has now garnered significant cross-sector support, PSPC has identified new potential focus areas to catalyze funding, which requires review of current and emerging priorities.
Action: In early 2024, we supported PSPC to conduct a portfolio review of current and emerging strategic priorities by designing the criteria and process for PSPC’s Coordinating Committee to review current and potential strategies
Result: With a refreshed value proposition and positioning, PSPC can now refocus on what comes next for this innovative and catalytic funding collaborative focused on reducing gun violence in Chicago.
