Challenge: Supporting staff development is a key priority for the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) leadership team. Staff have a range of skill sets and are tasked with creating engaging and informative presentations, managing student data, and generating comprehensive reports. To ensure high-quality work, CCC leaders asked Civic Consulting Alliance to provide training on commonly used workplace tools to enhance the capacity of its team.

Action: Civic Consulting Alliance staff and pro bono advisor Deloitte built and delivered two Excel and PowerPoint training modules to build the technical capacity of City Colleges of Chicago staff.

Result: Efficient and effective use of PowerPoint and Excel will boost the technical capacity of CCC staff and allow staff to spend more time serving students. The project furthers the Excellence lever in CCC's strategic plan, which includes a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
